To enhance the information consciousness and information literacy of readers,the library provides various information literacy courses and training programs in different forms all the year round, which help them use the library resources and facilities in an effective way.
- Information Retrieval Courses
The library’s curriculum is open to undergraduate students in arts, science, engineering and medicine, including multiple public elective courses, such as Computer Retrieval and Utilization, Internet Information Retrieval and Utilization, Medical Information Retrieval and Utilization, etc. Besides, the library customizes elective courses concerning the utilization of resources for many schools and departments according to their syllabi.
- Massive Open Online Courses
The library’s online course Academic Integrity and Norms of Postgraduates is a required course for all MA students in Wuhan University. Find the course on http://whu.mooc.chaoxing.com.
- Embedded Trainings
The embedded trainings are opened to provide targeted teaching for resource recommendation, information retrieval and reference collection instructions.

- Training Sessions
Diverse free training sessions are provided to help readers to utilize the library more efficiently. The sessions include 90-minute thematic lectures, special lectures and customized thematic lectures. The lecture contents are related to library collection introduction, resource searching methods of different subjects, retrieval skills of various resources and application of common software.

- Freshmen Orientation
The orientation helps freshmen learn quickly about the collection layout as well as the utilization of library resources and services to improve their information literacy.
